Sleep - The Greatest Impact Of All
Most people need between 7-9 hours of sleep. For a lot of people getting that sleep need is negotiable. Most are not even aware how much sleep they need, but even if they are this is the usually one of the first things that gets deprioritized. What happens is that you accumulate sleep debt, which can impact your entire life. Most of us will crave more junk food, not feel like exercising, be less kind and patient with our loved ones, friends and really anybody around us. As a result most of us will just do the bare minimum to get through the day, just too tired to pursue our dreams.
TAKE ACTION
Determine your sleep need and make it a non-negotiable. To determine your sleep need you will need one week where you can sleep in. During that week go to bed at the same time each night and wake up whenever you wake up. If you sleep a long time in the first 3-4 days this might be due to your body recovering from sleep debt. So take the average of days 4-7 and you will have your sleep need. Dark room or eye mask, ear plugs, tape mouth, get sunlight in the morning, don´t eat 3 hours before bed time and no blue light after it got dark (use red filter on devices or blue light blocking glasses). Get a sleep tracker e.g. Aura Ring or Whoop.
