My past belief & approach
To me health meant not having fun. Everything I liked was unhealthy apparently, so I just told myself “it might be unhealthy, but even if I die earlier at least I had fun”. Food was about eating whatever tasted good, which to me was pretty much just yellow food like fries, burgers, pasta, bread, pizza, chips and sweets, especially gummi bears and any candy that had “sour” on the label. Doing sports justified eating a lot of that. I was never very overweight, but usually a bit bloated or chubby and definitely tired and fatigued a lot. My “rewards” for working hard were the couch, Netflix and fast food or getting drunk with friends.
My reason to change
That did not lead to me being particularly unhappy, but certainly not happy either. Everything was “okay”, my job, my health, my relationship to your mom, to you, to my friends. Some good days, some bad days, “nothing to complain about”. Still I felt stuck and that there had to be more to life than settling for “okay”. I would have liked my work to be inspiring and incredibly fulfilling, a relationship with your mom that was full of unconditional love and support for each other, to be a role model for you guys and to be spreading massive positive vibes towards everyone around me. But I just didn´t have the energy to make it happen, so I felt the need to make a change. I found inspiration in people like Tony Robbins who gave me the certainty that this was actually possible, that I don´t need to settle for a mediocre life and that the first step was to create the energy needed to be able to do it.
My Top 3 Learnings
Healthy to me meant not being sick. Now it´s become about achieving massive energy. Having contagious high energy and feeling fully alive. So I went on a quest to find out what the things are that will maximize my energy. Here are the three things I found to have the greatest impact:
